The pairings for the Virginia High School League football playoffs were released on Sunday.
Lafayette (10-0) earned the top seed in the 3A East bracket and will host No. 16 Huguenot (1-9) of Richmond Friday at Wanner Stadium at 7 p.m. The winner faces either No. 9 Hopewell (4-6) or No. 8 Skyline (7-3) in the second round.
The Rams will play at home through the state semifinals should they advance that far. Huguenot, Warhill (3-7) and Colonial Heights (2-8) finished tied for 16th in the region power ratings with Huguenot claiming the postseason berth via tie-breaker.
Bruton (2-8) is the No. 16 seed in 2A East and will travel to Staunton Friday to meet top-seeded and unbeaten Riverheads. The winner meets either No. 9 King William (8-2) or No. 8 Strasburg (7-3).
