Lafayette claimed one relay and one individual state title Monday on the first day of the Group 3A indoor track and field championships in Lynchburg.
Lafayette's Megan Jones won the long jump and the Rams' boys 4x800-meter team also claimed a state title.
Jones' winning jump was 17 feet, 3.5 inches and she was followed in second place by Lafayette's Alex Brender A'Brandis and in third by Lafayette's Alexus Wells for a 1-2-3 Rams finish.
The 4x8 squad featuring Konrad Steck, Cade Moreno, James Hart, and Andrew Loper ran an 8:05.77.
Warhill's 4x8 team (Matthew Hrncir, Ethan Johnson, Spencer Conti, Chris Short) was about 4 seconds off the winning pace in third.
Competition concludes on Tuesday.
