Local alumnae leading Bridgewater College women's golf

The Virginia Gazette

Bridgewater College senior Marin Warring was named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Player of the Week. She helped the 17th-ranked Eagles to a 4-1 match-play victory over No. 20 Washington and Lee at Stoney Creek Golf Course.

Warring, a Lafayette High graduate, defeated 2015 ODAC Player of the Year Mary-Frances Hall 4 and 3. Warring is fourth in the ODAC at 77.5 strokes per round.

Warring now has won four ODAC weekly awards in her career and this was the second player of the week honor this spring.

Bridgewater has taken the award after every spring competition in 2016, with Warring winning after the TaylorMade/Adidas and Browngolf Intercollegiates, and Jamestown High grad Christina Herbert, a sophomore, taking the honors following the Jekyll Island Collegiate.

Bridgewater will be back in action at the Hollins Shooutout on April 12, the Eagles' final tuneup for the ODAC championships.
