Lafayette opens Bay Rivers outdoor track season with overall wins

The Lafayette boys and girls track and field teams each won overall titles Wednesday at New Kent in the first meet of what promises to be an exciting outdoor Bay Rivers District campaign.

Lafayette's girls edged Grafton by 4.5 points and the Rams' boys bested second-place Jamestown by 7.5 points.

Locally, Jordan Willis of Jamestown was a double winner in the 200 meters and the long jump. He was also second, narrowly, to Grafton standout Miles Owens in the 400. Jordan Turner of Jamestown, who won the 100, had two second-place finishes behind Willis in the 200 and the long jump.
