Bridgewater’s Christina Herbert was named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week following two individual victories in the past seven days.
Herbert, a sophomore from Jamestown High, is on a streak not seen in the short history of ODAC women’s golf. She won both tournaments in which Bridgewater competed this week, giving her three individual medals in her three starts this season.
She has earned four individual medals in a row, dating back to her first-place finish at the 2015 ODAC championships.
Herbert won the Generals Invitational at 7-over-par 151, beating Washington and Lee’s Liza Freed by one stroke at Lexington Golf & Country Club. BC placed second as a team, six shots behind W&L.
Herbert’s second win of the week came at the Bridgewater Fall Invitational, where she shot a 5-over 149 at Lakeview Golf Club. She leads the ODAC with an average of 74 strokes per round.
