Stewart's 17 points lead Walsingham boys by Peninsula Catholic

The Walsingham Academy boys basketball team defeated Peninsula Catholic 58-43 Thursday behind 17 points from Jaylin Stewart, 15 from Sam Jones and 11 from Tariq Balogun.

The Trojans, ranked ninth in the latest VISAA Division 2 poll, will host Portsmouth Christian on Saturday before the TCIS tourney starts on the road Tuesday.

Walsingham's girls closed the regular season Wednesday with a 32-30 loss to Veritas School and will open TCIS tourney play on Tuesday.
