Planners okay additional museum sign

WILLIAMSBURG - The Planning Commission approved a request from Colonial Williamsburg to hang another 100-square-foot  banner sign marking the entrance to the Arts Museums of Colonial Williamsburg through the Public Hospital building on Francis Street.

Mark Duncan, representing Colonial Williamsburg, said that since 2012, when the commission approved the first sign at the building, attendance at the art museums had grown by 5 percent each year.

"But we think we can do better," he said. "The museums are still too often called the 'best kept secret in Williamsburg.'"
