For those students walking out, remember the vast majority of shooters were the “outcasts,” those that other kids bullied or ignored. So, as well as walking out, if you really want to make a difference, look for the kid eating alone or the outcasts among you and reach out to them.
I applaud high school students for taking the lead on fighting the NRA. I hope they realize student shooting deaths at schools are only the tip of the iceberg, and they broaden their scope to address the pervasive societal gun problems that kill 31,000 people a year.
