WILLIASMBURG — Black Friday business seemed steady in greater Williamsburg, if less frenzied than in past years.
The exception to that was Premium Outlets of Williamsburg, which was packed as usual.
The general lack of frenzy might be because many stores made their Black Friday "doorbusters" available as much as a week ahead of time. Others, like Walmart, made most of them available online. While a sign at JoAnn Fabric and Crafts in New Town announced that the Black Friday doorbusters had been available since Tuesday.
That makes sense. It gives shoppers what they like about Black Friday: deals; without what some don't like: crowds.
