Economists paint murky picture for state's economy

It's hard to predict whether Virginia's economic outlook will get any better going forward, according to some state economists.

"I would say (the state's economy) is muddling along," said James Koch, Board of Visitors Professor of Economics at Old Dominion University.

Koch along with other ODU economists presented the State of the Commonwealth Report at Virginia's 7th annual Economic Summit. The Virginia Chamber of Commerce hosted the summit at the Williamsburg Lodge on Dec. 2.

Conflicting numbers have made prognostication murky, according to the presentation.
