The U.S. Women's National Soccer Team, led by former William and Mary women's soccer star Jill Ellis, started the Summer Olympics Wednesday with a 2-0 win against New Zealand.
Ellis and the U.S. play again in group play at 4 p.m. Saturday against France and again at 6 p.m. Tuesday against Colombia. Both games will be televised on NBC Sports Network.
The U.S. is trying to become the first team to win the Olympic gold medal following a World Cup the prior year.
