Police: Nurse aides accused of stealing more than $2,000 from York woman

Two nurse aides are accused of stealing more than $2,000 from a woman they were hired to take care of, police say.

Police believe Lena Renee Mitchell, 46, of Suffolk, and Kentara Rashem Wright, 24, of Newport News, stole the victim’s identity to open up a bank account at Wells Fargo, said Lt. Dennis Ivey of the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office.

The pair are accused of using a fraudulent credit card to buy $2,062.17 in groceries, clothing, personal items and re-loadable debit cards on Feb. 25 at Walmart on the 700 block of E. Rochambeau, according to a criminal affidavit filed in York-Poquoson General District Court.
