The American Red Cross' spring blood drive is coming to the Peninsula this month.
People can donate blood, used in life-saving transfusions, six times each year, and the organization encourages people to donate often. Blood is perishable with the constant need for replenishment, according to a news release from the Red Cross.
That's why the organization is holding six blood drives in Williamsburg, James City and York counties between April 18-30.
Anyone in good health, at least 17 years old and weighing more than 110 pounds is eligible to give.
