A driver was charged in connection with a crash on Interstate 64 in Newport News last weekend that injured six people, one of them critically, police said.
The crash happened about 9:30 a.m. March 31, near Fort Eustis, according to Virginia State Police spokeswoman Sgt. Michelle Anaya.
A child was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Norfolk with life-threatening injuries, Anaya said.
Two other children were taken by ambulance to Norfolk and an adult and two children were taken by ambulance to Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Anaya said.
