WILLIAMSBURG - The College of William and Mary’s “One Tribe One Day” fundraising campaign exceeded the goal set by university fundraisers.
The event, which took place Tuesday, set out to generate donations to the university from 7,000 unique donors. By the end of the day, more than 10,000 people had donated a combined $1.8 million to the university, according to Matthew Lambert, the Vice-President for University Advancement.
The $1.8 million figure is a preliminary estimate, and university spokesperson Brian Whitson said officials anticipate the number rising once the final count is done.
