W&M hires fellows under "year of service" initiative

The president of the College of William and Mary fully endorses giving young people a chance to devote a year of service to their community and country after graduation.

"It's a glorious idea," Taylor Reveley said. "It has enormous potential for the young people who actually do a year of service, enormous potential for the not-for-profit groups they help, and enormous potential for the country."

He added: "If you get enough people doing it, it will build a corps of really good citizens who really care about other people. It will improve our national mood and get us out of the political dysfunction we now suffer, and maybe get us moving...
