Virginia's job market is rapidly changing, and the state's top elected official wants students to be prepared for the modernized labor market.
Speaking as part of a two-day conference on how colleges in the commonwealth can use data for their purposes and to benefit the student body, Gov. Terry McAuliffe said Virginia badly needs to diversify its economy, lest it fall behind.
"For years and years, we've been dependent on the federal government," said McAuliffe during his speech at the College of William and Mary. "We became too reliant."
