The county will open its Section 8 housing choice voucher application process for four days beginning Sept. 11.
Limited funding means applications will be selected and ordered using a random lottery system. Not all applicants will be placed on the waiting list, said Rebecca Vinroot, county social services director.
Vinroot said the county will create a wait list of 300 people for 260 available spots. There are already 36 people on the waiting list.
“We can only have it open for a short amount of time because we can’t go past a total of 300 people,” Vinroot said.
