Prep roundup: Jamestown gets walkoff softball win over Warhill

Tara Rowden hit a walk-off triple in the bottom of the ninth to drive in the winning run for Jamestown in a 2-1 win over Warhill Friday in Bay Rivers District softball action.

Madalyn Morton pitched all nine innings for the Eagles, giving up three hits and an earned run while striking out five.

Kara Greene had a strong game in the circle for Warhill, going the distance and striking out 14. Greene scattered eight hits and walked two but gave up one Jamestown run in the third inning before the double from Rowden, who had two hits.

Paige Richardson went 3-for-4 for the Eagles, driving in their other run, and Emma Brown went 2-for-4.
