Jamary McKinney said he discovered his first love when he started playing baseball at age 5.
McKinney has taken the route of many talented baseball players, starting on his local Little League team with Jackie Robinson West, progressing to elite travel teams as a teen and starting for his high school team at Simeon.
But McKinney, who now plays for Chicago State, says he sometimes feels like an anomaly in the sport he adores.
