William and Mary junior outfielder Charles Ameer was named the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week.
He batted .714 (10-for-14) with four doubles, a homer, five runs and six RBIs from the leadoff spot in W&M's 3-0 week. The junior was 2-for-2 with a pair of walks in a 12-8 victory over Richmond and then put together back-to-back 4-for-6 outings with two runs in wins over Hofstra.
Hunter Smith drove in six runs Saturday in William and Mary's 15-10 home win over Hofstra and earned the league's top weekly rookie honors.
Five players had multiple hits for the Tribe, which put the game away with four runs in the sixth and seventh innings.
