The King William boys’ basketball team’s shooting went ice cold at the worst time Thursday evening.
The Cavaliers had a four-point lead with 1:57 left in their game against Maggie Walker, but were unable to score another point. That lead turned into a 48-44 loss for the home team.
“It just wasn’t one thing, it was a combination of things,” Cavaliers coach Joe Harper said. “We didn’t make our free throws down the stretch; we threw the ball away three straight times and our players did things they aren’t asked to do. Until we learn how to close a game, we will never be a good team.”
