When opportunity knocked, Pam Gibbons was there at the door.
After three years as the running club coach at Williamsburg Christian Academy in James City County, Gibbons, a speech therapist, has taken on a new role: athletic director.
“I came to this job because God opened the door,” Gibbons wrote in an email. “He works in strange ways sometimes but the opportunity was there.”
At 43, the married mother of one has spent the last eight and a half years in Williamsburg working as a speech therapist.
When Gibbons enrolled her daughter, Delaney, at the Christ-centered school three years ago, Gibbons soon began volunteering as the new running club coach.
