W&M women fourth in cross-country regionals, now await NCAA fate

The William and Mary women's cross-country team finished fourth in the Southeast Region Championships Friday, putting the Tribe in the mix for an NCAA Championship bid.

The NCAA field will be announced on Saturday.

The 22nd-ranked Tribe scored 187 points behind Virginia (53), N.C. State (74) and North Carolina (100).

Sophomore Regan Rome was fifth overall for William and Mary with a mark of 20:40.8 on the 6K course in Charlottesville.

Classmate Molly Breidenbaugh earned an all-region nod, taking 21st (21:30.5)

The Tribe men ended their season Friday in the regionals, taking 11th out of 32 teams with 350 points.
