Fans of Hampton High School football do not question donning crab-emblazoned paraphernalia. Crowds at Warhill football games are happy to have a human-sized Lion direct their cheers.

Still, each high school mascot comes with a history behind it, whether it dates back more than a century (see: the Hampton Crabbers) or was voted on by students 10 years ago (see: the Warhill Lions).

Students, parents and alumni show their passion for their school mascots at every game and pep rally. Some even go above and beyond and don the mascot costume.
