Tribe eliminates reigning national-champion Cavaliers, 5-4, in NCAA baseball regional

William and Mary eliminated reigning national-champion Virginia Sunday in the NCAA baseball regionals in Charlottesville.

The fourth-seeded Tribe's 5-4 win over the top-seeded Cavaliers sets up a showdown with third-seeded East Carolina at 3 p.m. Sunday.

William and Mary must beat its former Colonial Athletic Association foe ECU twice to advance to Super Regionals. The Pirates, having beaten No. 2 Bryant and Virginia (Saturday on a walk-off home run), can move on with a win in the first game.

Charles Ameer produced the go-ahead run for William and Mary against the Cavaliers with a solo home run in the seventh inning.
