W&M removes Sharper from Hall of Fame

William and Mary removed disgraced former football star Darren Sharper from its athletic Hall of Fame, the school announced Monday.

Sharper, an All-America defensive back at W&M and All-Pro in the NFL, recently reached an agreement in which he agreed to plead guilty or no contest to raping or attempting to rape nine women in four states, over a three-year period.

"After a period of thoughtful deliberation, the decision has been made to remove Darren Sharper from the William and Mary Hall of Fame," athletic director Terry Driscoll said in a statement.
