A guide to one-day fantasy sports

One-day fantasy sports is now legal and licensed in the state of Virginia after two bills (HB 775 and SB 646) passed into law at the end of July. Fantasy sports sites such as FanDuel and DraftKings that charge money for players to enter contests must now register with the state's Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, and pay a $50,000 license fee. More importantly, they are required to take steps to prevent employees and their family playing in contests, segregate player funds, and ensure data is secure.
