PETERSBURG — Coach Chris Brown knew all season that teams with multiple big men gave his Williamsburg Christian Academy boys basketball team the most trouble.
Top-seeded WCA (29-6) faced that dilemma Friday afternoon in the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association Division III semifinals against fifth-seeded Virginia Academy (19-15). The Ashburn team, with a pair of 6-foot-10 players, eliminated the Eagles 69-64 at Virginia State University.
"We had a very solid first half," Brown said, "definitely had things really going our way. But we weren't majorly comfortable because we felt like we still had to attack those two big guys."
