Prep roundup: Favorites hard to pick in Bay Rivers baseball

Jamestown stole many of the area high school baseball headlines last spring.

The Eagles just missed the 4A state semis with a 2-1 loss to Hanover in a classic 13-inning game. But the main pitcher who carried them, 4A state co-player of the year Ryan Devine, currently pitching at St. Joseph’s, graduated. So, too, did a number of key players.

What remains in the Bay Rivers District are plenty of good teams, Jamestown among them. So, picking a favorite is difficult, although Grafton and Jamestown might be the best of a crowded pack of contenders in the BRD.
