JAMES CITY — The preseason consensus around the Bay Rivers District was that Lafayette was the team to beat and the Rams' Hezekiah Grimsley was the player to watch.
The Rams' 47-12 rout of Huguenot on Thursday at Wanner Stadium served to underline both assertions.
The Rams (1-0) dominated so thoroughly on defense that they held the Falcons (1-1) to zero points and negative 14 yards, before the second team gave up two long pass plays and two touchdowns in the final 4:18 of the game.
