Tre McBride had already shifted his focus Saturday to selecting an NFL team to join as a free agent when he received a call from the Tennessee Titans.
The Titans took the former William and Mary receiver with the 245th overall selection in the seventh and final round.
Some had projected McBride to go between the third and fifth rounds.
The wait, was hard to bear.
"I wouldn't want to make that wait again," McBride said Saturday, joined by friends and family at his home in Williamsburg, "unless I was guaranteed to go higher, obviously. It was torture, but it all worked out."
