When you have nothing to lose — and the Bears reached that point long ago — manage the game accordingly.

That's the spot John Fox found himself in with 83 seconds remaining Sunday, facing fourth-and-goal from the 4-yard line against the Packers. He could go for it with quarterback Matt Barkley, who turned the ball over four times but carved up the Packers secondary with 166 passing yards in the fourth quarter. Or kick a field goal to tie the score and play for overtime.

Fox played it safe, and the result was he never got to overtime as Aaron Rodgers stunned the Bears and the hearty 44,601 folks who showed up at Soldier Field despite a game-time temperature of 11 degrees....
