Lafayette earned the second seed in Region 4A, the highest seed among the Williamsburg region’s Bay River District teams.
The Rams, who finished the regular season 9-1 while extending its BRD winning streak to 51 games, missed out on the top seed when King’s Fork ended Oscar Smith’s 99-game Southeastern District winning streak to finish the regular season undefeated.
But that second seed comes with a caveat — a rematch against rival Warhill, which earned the seventh seed.
Another set of BRD teams will meet for the second time this year, with Poquoson hosting Bruton in Region 2A.
