JAMES CITY – Smithfield set the tone Thursday against Jamestown at Wanner Stadium on the opening play from scrimmage, a 22-yard by quarterback Willie Drew.
There was more where that came from, although Drew needed only eight carries to run for 176 yards and two scores, while throwing 7-for-13 for 159 yards and two more touchdowns.
It was all Smithfield, 49-14, and 49-7 by halftime before the running clock kicked in.
