Prep roundup: Brown resigns as Jamestown football coach

Donnell Brown resigned this week as Jamestown High's head football coach after three seasons to become the head football coach at his alma mater, Hickory High in Chesapeake.

The Eagles were 6-25 in three seasons under Brown and reached the first round of the 2017 Region 4A playoffs, losing to King’s Fork. Brown's best season with Jamestown was 2016, when he guided the Eagles to a 3-7 mark.

"We thank Coach Brown for his hard work and dedication to Jamestown High and the football program the past three years, and we wish him well in his future endeavors," Jamestown athletic director Ken Edwards said.
