Williamsburg-James City County Schools is short eight bus drivers; that’s fewer than at the beginning of last school year.
Marcellus Snipes, senior director for operations at W-JCC, said there are eight vacancies for bus drivers, compared to 14 at the beginning of the month.
“The vacancies will not limit or hinder our ability to provide efficient transportation,” Snipes said.
When school resumed in September 2017, W-JCC was short 22 bus drivers.
W-JCC uses 125 school buses daily to shuttle children back and forth to 15 schools. They make more than 640 runs a day, not including field trips and Virginia High School League sports trips.
