Despite a bicycle-kick goal by former Jamestown High star Jeff Wolons in the 47th minute, Legacy 76 lost 3-1 Sunday to FC Frederick in an National Premier Soccer League clash at Wanner Stadium.
The Maryland squad broke a 1-1 tie with 18 minutes left, then converted a clinching penalty kick.
Frederick, the top-ranked team in the country in the NPSL power ratings, leads the four-team Mid-Atlantic Conference, four points clear of Virginia Beach City FC. Legacy 76 sits at the bottom of the table behind Fredericksburg FC.
Frederick also claimed the first match against Legacy 76, 3-1, in Maryland.
