Williamsburg, James City officers participate in Virginia Law Enforcement Torch Run

Williamsburg police officers, fire fighters, James City County police officers and United States Navy and Marine Corps members participated in the Virginia Law Enforcement Torch Run benefiting Special Olympics Virginia on Friday morning.

The run, which is part of a 1,900-mile run across Virginia, began at the Williamsburg Capitol building at 7:15 a.m. Eleven people carried the Special Olympics Virginia torch about five miles from Duke of Gloucester Street to the Quality Inn on Richmond Road.
