Walsingham girls top field, boys third in VISAA track invitational

The Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association Division II track and field meet Walsingham Academy hosted Saturday may not have been 100 percent telling of the Trojans girls team’s chances at a repeat state title, but it did show coach Richard Higgins they are at least close to as strong as a year ago.

Walsingham’s girls won the meet with 200.5 points, easily besting second-place Broadwater Academy (103), which was followed by Hampton Roads Academy with 77.
