W&M baseball welcoming College of Charleston for pivotal CAA clash

The William and Mary baseball team will return to Plumeri Park Friday against College of Charleston after a four-game road swing.

The Tribe, Charleston and UNC Wilmington each have six losses in Colonial Athletic Association play, two games behind first-place Northeastern.

William and Mary (25-21, 9-6 CAA) rolled past Towson 8-1 Sunday, led by Hunter Smith’s home run, three RBI, two runs and a double.

The Tribe took two of three from Towson and have won six of its last seven games.

Daniel Powers, who gained his fourth win of the season Sunday, and fellow senior Chase Bailey combined to limit the Tigers (16-25, 4-11) to eight hits.
