Lafayette’s wrestlers learned lessons in last weekend’s Virginia Duals that are hard to teach in average meets.
With 48 high school and 20 college teams participating inside the Hampton Coliseum, the renowned Virginia Duals is no average event.
“I think it puts pressure on your wrestlers,” said Lafayette coach Chris Wiatt. “It’s very hard to find events like that.”
As Wiatt expected, the Rams were outmatched on Friday against top-seeded Chantilly, but closed the tournament on Saturday with tight competitions against Loudoun County and Powhatan.
