A Revolutionary Tour: The Fifes and Drums of York Town

YORKTOWN, Va. - A group of young Virginians will bring 18th-century military music and field drills to the Philadelphia area this weekend.

The Fifes and Drums of York Town, a volunteer group of musicians ages 10 to 18, play period-style instruments and dress in uniforms that would have looked familiar to Gen. George Washington. The group is visiting Philadelphia and Valley Forge as part of their annual summer tour. They'll perform at Fort Mifflin, Independence National Historical Park, the Museum of the American Revolution, and Valley Forge. Tour stops in past years have included Washington, D.C., Baltimore's Inner Harbor, and the Statue of Liberty.
