UPDATE: Tropical Storm warning canceled for eastern Virginia

5:13 p.m. -- The National Weather Service has canceled a tropical storm warning for central and eastern Virginia,  northeast North Carolina and the lower eastern shore of Maryland.

All watches and warnings associated with the storm have also been canceled, according to an update on the National Weather Service's website. Conditions in Virginia and Maryland are continuing to improve, the weather service said.

But there is still a flood advisory for these areas through noon on Tuesday, which means that minor to moderate flooding could happen in low-lying areas near the water.
