RCC to sponsor free medical clinic in November

Tidewater residents can take advantage of a free medical care clinic at Richmond County Elementary School Nov. 4-5.

Dental, vision and other medical care will be offered for people unable to afford the cost of these services. Care is provided regardless of insurance or residency status, according to a Rappahannock Community College news release.

Tickets are given out at 3 a.m. on Nov. 4. Registration starts at 6 a.m. each day. No pain medicine prescriptions will be provided. No pets are allowed at the event, the release states.

The event is sponsored by the college and Remote Area Medical, which is a nonprofit health care organization. The event is coordinated by instructors and students of the college’s associate degree nursing program, the release states.

The clinic will be Remote Area Medical’s second such event held on the Northern Neck. More than 600 people received care at the first event held in 2015. At the event, more than 400 pairs of glasses were built on site and more than 1,000 dental procedures were conducted, the release states.
