Katherine Skiba


Katherine Skiba is the Chicago Tribune’s Washington correspondent. A third-generation Chicagoan, she reports on the Illinois members of Congress, the White House, the Obama family, elections and a variety of stories. She has reported from more than 30 states in the U.S. and 16 foreign countries. Earlier she was a senior writer at U.S. News & World Report and held several positions at the Milwaukee Journal, including Washington correspondent. She received her B.A. in journalism from Marquette University and was a Nieman Fellow at Harvard University. She has received several journalism awards, including Marquette’s By-Line Award for career achievement. She has discussed politics and government on CNN, C-SPAN, PBS’s “NewsHour,” MSNBC, Fox Business News and other outlets. She is a member of the White House Correspondents’ Association and the National Press Club, where she formerly chaired its Speakers Committee. She is the author of “Sister in the Band of Brothers: Embedded with the 101st Airborne in Iraq.”
