Mariners' Museum's Craft Beer Festival set for Sunday, May 3

Beer talks throughout the day

Mariners' Museum will host a craft beer festival noon to 5 p.m. Sunday (May 3) in the museum's courtyard.

In past years, the festival has attracted more than 1,500 people, according to the museum.

Close to 50 craft beers will be offered from breweries including Alewerks, Bold Rock, Center of the Universe, Devils Backbone, Evolution, Goose Island, Heavy Seas, Legend, Lonerider, New Belgium, O'Connor, Shocktop, Smartmouth, St. George, Starr Hill, Sunken City and SweetWater.

Brewery representatives will be at each tasting tent to answer questions and several breweries will give “beer talks” throughout the day. New this year is a “Cask-Off” competition in which select breweries will prepare a cask ale made with unfiltered and unpasteurized beer. Attendees will vote for their favorite cask ale.

Music will be provided by the Esoteric Ramblers and Hey! Hey! Hooligan.

Tickets are $35 in advance, $45 at the door, $15 non-tasting. Advance tickets can be purchased online at
