Hampton Roads Transportation Accountability Committee (HRTAC) Chairman Alan Krasnoff appointed local businessman W. Sheppard Miller III to the HRTAC Technical Advisory Committee, according to a Tuesday statement.
Miller will replace Clyde Clark, vice president of BB&T Bank, who resigned nearly a year ago.
The Technical Advisory Committee is “responsible for recommending funding strategies to build a program of projects identified by the Hampton Roads Transportation Planning Organization (HRTPO) and the commission,” according to HRTAC bylaws.
The committee does not officially vote on priority funding for the projects it recommends.
As member of the nine-member advisory committee, Miller will serve a one-year term.
A Norfolk native who leads three technology companies based in Virginia Beach, Miller, “is a former member of the Commonwealth Transportation Board who understands the complexities of how to build and finance projects to keep Hampton Roads moving forward,” Krasnoff said
