If you’re ringing in the New Year at an outdoor celebration on the Peninsula, there’s good news and bad news.
The good news: It won’t be too cold. The temperature will be in the mid-50s all day and night, according to the National Weather Service.
The bad news: It might rain.
In the early afternoon, the chance for rain is 60 percent. Then, after 7 p.m., there’s a chance for showers.
That likelihood is pretty low — about 30 percent. But still, better to be safe than sorry. The wind will also be a factor. It will be gusty, with the breeze getting up to 25 mph.
Similar weather is expected New Year’s Day. There’s a chance for rain, and the day should be balmy, with an anticipated high temperature of 70.
