Wednesday is expected to be warm and sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms increasing into the evening, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures are expected to reach 91 in Newport News, with a 20 percent chance of precipitation mainly after 2 p.m.
That chance of precipitation goes up to 50 percent overnight. Between a tenth and a quarter inch of rain is expected to fall as a cold front passes through the area, though higher amounts are possible in thunderstorms.
On the other side of the front, temperatures will be a little cooler with Thursday’s high forecast currently in the mid-80s.
