Nikhil met Binish at a TED(x) Event in a small town in Gujarat. Fascinated by listening to Binish's talk, Nikhil developed an interest in capturing the journey of Binish Desai.
Dr. Binish Desai is an innovator working on industrial waste recycling and sustainable management. He holds a masters degree in environmental engineering and an honorary Ph.D. in Environmental Sci and technology. He started his journey at a very young age, 11 by carrying out home-based experiments with chewing gum and paper. He currently has 150+ eco-product under the EcoEclectic Technologies banner in India and has received many national and international awards for his contributions such as being youngest to be awarded "Rotary International Alumni Humanitarian of the Year" award for South Asia, Forbes 30Under 30 Asia 2018 list of successful Social Entrepreneurs etc. He is known as Waste Warrior and Recycles Man of India for his works in recycling more than 700 tonnes of Industrial waste.
He believes that the concept of "Waste" does not exist in Nature, the waste was generated by human consumption, Thus it is our duty to sustainably get rid of it. With a vision to eliminate the industrial waste from landfills; he founded Eco Eclectic Technology in 2016, a lab that focuses on providing cost-effective eco-friendly technologies and solutions for various industrial wastes and using them for social impact.
When author Nikhil Chandwani met Binish, after the event, the very idea of this inspiring journey as a talk of action, the latter was convinced by Nikhil to narrate all the struggles.
They developed a bond and now, a book is soon scheduled to release about the life of the Recycle Man.
Nikhil believes we have turned a blind eye towards the environment. Binish's story and his journey could not only help the youngsters understand the need of preserving nature, but his struggles could also bring out aspiring environmentalists onto action platform.
Binish's firm Eco-Eclectic is dedicated to creating eco-friendly solutions for domestic and industrial waste by turning them into assets. Founder Binish Desai first dabbled with the idea when he was just 11 years old, experimenting with paper and chewing gum. He started the company in 2016 making bricks from waste, using them to build more than a thousand houses and toilets in rural India. Today the company has developed around 150 eco-products and recycled more than 600 tonnes of waste.
